In this fast-changing and febrile global economy, the role of the procurement and supply chain professional is becoming ever more critical. Procurement and supply chain professionals sit at the vital intersection of geopolitics, price, risk and sustainability. And the skills needed to occupy this demanding position mean we believe CPOs will become the business leaders of the future.
Perceptions of the profession are already shifting as procurement and supply chain professionals deftly guide organisations through an increasingly volatile world – two thirds of you are already seeing your influence grow.
At CIPS our core purpose is advancing the procurement and supply chain profession, we’ve been thinking about our vision for the profession in 2050. For the profession to fulfil its potential, we need to pull together – we need ambassadors of change.
So, in this year’s CIPS Procurement Pioneers programme we’re spotlighting 15 people who are thinking differently – visionaries, thinkers and practitioners defining and mapping a new future for this great profession.
We believe their voices are making the case for the procurement and supply chain profession to be more central and can help us reinvent the profession. Over the next year we will bring their knowledge to the CIPS community through an editorial programme including podcasts, events and articles.
