A new dawn for UK public-sector procurement? Priorities from the Procurement Act

Ask your questions to panellists on the new regime

The Procurement Act 2023, now in effect, is expected to transform the way public-sector procurement is carried out in the UK. The aim is to create a simpler and more transparent public-sector procurement regime to deliver better value for money and increase opportunities for smaller businesses.

Representatives from CIPS were joined by the Cabinet Office’s deputy director for procurement reform, Lindsay Maguire, and Faye Dolan, from Procure Partnerships Framework – a national framework provider supporting the public sector appoint contractors in the built environment. Both bought unique perspectives to the discussion.

Speakers shared their thoughts about the new priorities for practitioners, what they are seeing on the ground, and be on hand to answer your questions.

What we covered:

  • The purpose behind the Procurement Act
  • Priorities for public-sector practitioners now the new regime is in place and how to make the most of the new provisions
  • The focus on creating opportunities for SMEs and VCSEs
  • The feedback cycle – for framework providers, suppliers and contract managers
